Reminiscing on the 90's

On April 15, 2020, Traylisha Hamilton & her husband, Quintrell were excited about their first Coronavirus stimulus checks. They lived in a "safer at home" area, rather than strict "stay at home", so they used that money to pay bills & old debt. They hardly had any left over for anything leisure.

Their 12-year old son, Dontavion, was on YouTube, bored with his 8-year old sister, Lil' Traylisha. Their parents, Traylisha & Quintrell, were both born in 1987. There was a YouTube video suggestion of Whitney Houston's song, "I Have Nothing", on Dontavion's feed. So, Dontavion clicked on the song, out of curiosity. He liked what he heard & discovered what REAL music was! He didn't like hearing Billie Eilish, Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Red, Tekashi, etc.

His parents overheard him blaring the song very loud from his laptop & told him to turn it down some. Then, he started to get curious & ask what the 90's Era was like. His parents shamefully put their heads down. Especially the dad, Quintrell.

His dad, Quintrell said, "Well, since everyone is quarantining, let's get adventurous!"

So, he called Lil' Traylisha into Dontavion's bedroom, & Dontavion got mad & said, "C'mon, daddy! You know I don't like her up in my room. If she messes it up, she's cleaning it. Not me!"

Quintrell said, "Boy, now is not the time for that. Ain't nobody gon' mess up your room. Stop trippin'! Like for real, for real!"

So, then Quintrell started smiling really hard & asked his wife, Traylisha, "Bae, what about the 90's culture do you miss?"

She responded, "I miss, of course, no lockdowns or masks.", & laughed. "Nah, in all seriousness though. I miss those nylon sweat suits, Yikes! pencils, Nike & Reebok sneakers, sleepovers, good R&B, Hip Hop & rap music, sitcoms & cartoons, Jerry Springer & Maury, family togetherness, people playing sports & games outside with each other while getting all sweaty, etc." & then she put her head down & broke down crying, because she misses her Grandma Izzie. Isabella Turner.

She misses the memories of her Grandma Izzie taking her & her cousins to church on Sundays & then cooking neighborhood Sunday dinner afterwards. She had a heart of gold & a beautiful soul. She never charged people for her dinners, unlike her other church friends.

Traylisha said that her Grandma Izzie would always call the 80's & 90's, "The Devil's Era", but Traylisha & numerous other people loved it. They never understood why until now. In fact, now is more of a Devil's Era than back then. Traylisha couldn't help but to admit that she misses getting belt whippings from her Grandma Izzie. Her young parents let her be free to do whatever she wanted to, because she was spoiled & an only child. Her Grandma Izzie would be strict, but at the same time, very loving & meant well. She gave Traylisha & her cousins a lot of wisdom. Grandma Izzie must've been woke to the truth & anti-New World Order.

Grandma Izzie was a hard-working Black female widow, who was a homemaker & gardener who served the Lord & also served the community without desiring any credit. She was as close to a Proverbs 31 woman that you can get! Unfortunately, she died peacefully in her sleep in July 1994. No one knows why.

Traylisha was in tears, telling her story about how much she missed her Grandma Izzie. Quintrell refused to speak on anything about his family, but he comforted & consoled his wife, along with the 2 kids.

The End
