Valerie walked up to Pastor Lopez after church & said, "Pastor Lopez, I'm ready to get baptized. Let's do it now!" Pastor Lopez had other plans. He froze.
"Pastor Lopez, are you ok?", asked Valerie's church buddy, Edmonia.
Pastor Lopez played it off like everything was fine & ok. He said, "Yes, I'm ok. Why do you ask?"
Edmonia responded, "You looked like you were in a trance for a minute."
Pastor Lopez chuckled & then walked everyone to a nearby river. He baptized 28 people that day. Valerie was excited because she had JUST given her life to Jesus Christ a week prior. She felt nervous because she wondered if she was moving too fast at becoming a new Christian. She wanted to take communion that day, as well. She wanted to do it all!
Valerie felt more elated & overjoyed than she felt when she married her husband, Wesley. Pastor Lopez felt honored to postpone his BIG laundry plans, to baptize people. The following Sunday, there was a celebration, similar to a birthday party, for everyone that got baptized.
