Yesterday was Gallery Night here in Pensacola, Florida. They host it every 3rd Friday of the month. I didn't feel like going, even though I love to go. I'm about to write a fictionalized short story about this event. The location, the event & the city will be the same, but the people, the names of businesses & the food trucks will be fictional. So, without further adieu, I hope you enjoyed reading this lame, corny short story more than I wrote it. 🥰

Waverly got off from work & called up her boyfriend Sylus. Sylus asked her if she wanted to go to Gallery Night downtown. She felt leery because she's not comfortable around big crowds. Also, she was extremely tired. Sylus begged her. She eventually caved in & went.
They finally arrived, & they encountered a homeless busker, who was singing his heart out & drumming. The homeless busker, Donald, said that he was just playing some music, hoping that he could get his favorite meal to eat. He even had a sign, saying that he didn't want any money, but just his favorite meal to eat for dinner. Mind you, it was a hot day in July. Most people passed by, ignoring him.
"What would you like?, asked Sylus. "We'd be more than happy to help you. By the way, I don't see why you don't have a record deal. You're the best."
Donald just had a stunned, speechless look on his face.
Surprisingly, all Donald wanted was a rainbow-flavored self-serve snow cone. He wanted the biggest size available. The flavors he had was blue cotton candy, green lime, yellow ice cream & red tigers blood. He thanked them & then went back to drumming & singing.
Waverly & Sylus looked at each other confused. & then looked back within seemingly 30 seconds, & Donald had JUST THAT QUICKLY devoured the entire snow cone! They couldn't comprehend how fast he consumed it. They continued walking down Palafox Street downtown, romantically holding hands & occasionally stopping to hug & kiss.
Waverly saw some tie dye t-shirts that she liked. Sylus asked her, "Can't you find another style"?
Then, Waverly brick walled him, saying, "What ever! 🤠Nobody asks you to find another pen, since all you collect is Stylus pens just because they rhyme with your name."
After that, they started play fighting. Then, a drunk man came by, trying to serenade to Waverly. He wanted to dance with her, along with the bands that were playing. The drunk man was trying to do a lap dance on Waverly, & Sylus wasn't having it. The cops were right there, & the drunk man straggled towards somewhere else.
Sylus asked Waverly, "Baby, what should we eat? I'm SO hungry!", while jokingly rubbing his tummy, impersonating the drunk man.
Waverly playfully slapped him in the face, saying, "You're so silly. Why don't we have a big rainbow snow cone?"
He said, "Girl, I KNOW you want some of this fried fish from this food truck right here. Look at it! A food truck that says, 'Waverly's Creole & Cajun Combo Spot', & look. They even serve praline coated beignets. The best of both worlds. You know you can't turn THAT down!"
"No, I can't.", Waverly responded.
They were waiting in line, doing more wrestling & giggling around. It was finally their turn, "Waverly told the food truck cashier, "Hey, my name is Waverly, too."
The male cashier with the name tag, "Malachi" said, "Stop playin'! Lemme see some ID." Waverly showed Malachi her ID. Malachi called the owner (also named Waverly) to the front. Waverly showed the owner her driver's license, & the owner let Waverly order what she wanted + have the praline coated beignets as a free lagniappe, in addition to her meal. Waverly wanted the red beans & crawfish jambalaya meal, while Sylus ordered a dressed fried catfish Po' Boy & a lager beer.
They sat down by the bay &ate their meal. & then it got late & quiet. Sylus started to get sleepy. Waverly drove him home, & then they slept on the couch together. They woke up the next morning, & Waverly wanted to go to the farmers market.
Sylus was still tired. She kept begging him to come with her. Just like yesterday, but the reverse. He finally caved in, & then they got to the farmers market.
The first thing they stumbled upon was more tie dye t-shirts. Sylus was like, "Oh, no! Not again!" & Waverly laughed & bought even more tie dye t-shirts. Sylus was interested in the fruits, vegetable, honey & Amish raw milk. All Waverly cared about was those doggone tie dye t-shirts! She didn't want anything else.
