Let's Buy Some 'Hood Snacks

Quinton & Kendell spent the weekend over at their cousins' house. Their cousins' nextdoor neighbors came over to hang out, too. Everyone was still exhausted from the block party from the night before. It was lunch time.

Kendell said, "Man, I'm so hungry! Ain't no food up in this house."

One of the cousins, Ansley said, "That's because my momma & daddy too lazy to go grocery shoppin'. They always buyin' fast food."

Ansley's nextdoor neighbor, Kerry said, "Shut up, you health nut! Food is just that. FOOD!"

Ansley started sobbing, saying, "Why are you always so mean to me? You hurt my feelings."

Kerry said, "Ok. I'm sorry. The only reason why I treat you like that because I asked you out, & you said NO. & you told me I look like a doberman pinscher".

Ansley responded, "I was just kidding!"

Kerry's dad, Mr. Kerry Frazier, Sr. came knocking on the door, saying, "Now, who's that cryin' about bein' hungry?"

All of the children were quiet as a mouse & too embarrassed. They feared that Mr. Kerry would call CPS on their parents. He gave each child & teen in the house $5 to go get some lunch from Burger King.

The children were excited to have a little money & went on their merry way. They went to the corner store, which was much closer.

Quinton & Kerry said, "Let's buy some 'hood snacks!" Then everyone laughed.

The closest to any solid food that was bought was some pickled pig lips, hot pickles, pickled eggs & a hot sausage sandwich. Ansley's sister Tykeria got all the pickled stuff. Ansley got herself a hot sausage sandwich, Barq's red creme soda & a bag of Mama ramen noodles.

The boys bought stuff like, Uncle Al's stage planks, moon pies, sugar daddies & sugar babies, Now & Later's, Mike & Ike's & rap snacks. The Middle Eastern corner store cashier falsely assumed that they were up to no good & were trying to steal, but they protested to defend their innocence. He humbled himself & apologized because he said that he got them mixed up with a group of kids who stole snacks out of his store the other day. He gave everyone a free hot sausage sandwich, chips & Squeez-It. They got excited & ran back to the house.

Ansley's parents were finally back home, & her parents punished her because they said that she was lying about them never going grocery shopping. Mr. Kerry felt played because the naughty kids snuck & went to go buy snacks instead of actual Burger King. Ansley ratted everyone else out, in order to make up for herself getting in trouble.

The boys said, "See? & you wonder why people treat you so mean!"

Everyone was grounded for a good 6 months, & Ansley's dad, Andre' allowed for Mr. Kerry Frazier, Sr. to whip the children with a belt. They all had to stand in line, one by one.
