The Boardwalk Stroll

Marion had just got done with her morning private surfing lessons with Jetta at Venice Beach. She went to Fig Tree on the boardwalk & ordered the seeded & sprouted avocado toast, along with the Amazon smoothie with maca root & bee pollen.

It was a hot, sunny day, & she wondered where all the homeless disappeared to. She was in the mood to be generous & bless at least one of them. They were nowhere in sight. She felt saddened by the possibility of there being any sweeps. She strolled up & down the boardwalk, but couldn't find any of them.

She walked towards all the guys showing off by the skating area & watched them for a bit. Many people were riding their bikes & skateboards. Some of them even had electric scooters & segways. Some people were walking, & some were jogging. Some were basking in the beaming sun, trying to get a tan. Some were surfing, some were swimming. Some were just wading in the water, taking a gamble, trying not to get wet, yet got soaked anyway.

Marion rested for a while. She took a moment out to relax & tan, but then it started to get too hot. She went by where the huge rock was, & discovered sea urchins & sea anemones. She had memories that made her wish that she was back in either biology or geology class. She loved science. She said to herself that she would rather be a scuba diver than a surfer. The hot weather & the waves started to intensify. She walked down 25 ft. towards the right (the direction towards Santa Monica) & then got back into the water & had fun for about 15 minutes, until she realized that something was off in the water. Lots of seaweed & strong rip currents. Then, she almost accidentally stepped on a stingray twice, trying to get out of the water.

She got out of the water & then walked up & down Venice Beach boardwalk again. When walking up & down the boardwalk, she laughed at all of the funny messages on the clothes at the boardwalk stores. She was fascinated by the artwork that she saw. She bought a couple of paintings of Venice Beach & Santa Monica. She also purchased a handmade sculpted tortoise & a sculpted flamingo. She bought some shea butter soap with scents like juniper berry, sun-kissed plumeria, sandalwood, bergamot, cedarwood, frankincense & lemongrass. She wanted to surprise & impress her new male friend, a huge crush, named Curtis.

She finally went to her Subaru Outback, with a boat on top & a bike on the back. She put her purchased items inside, & then rode on the way home. She didn't eat lunch, so she had a heavy, filling dinner. He had a hearty herb-covered pork loin with roasted root vegetables. She took a shower & then retired to bed. While drifting off to sleep, she was dreaming & fantasizing about Curtis. She fantasized about him smelling like that sandalwood scent. The ocean waves, sea anemones, sea urchins, stingrays, & even the yucky-looking seaweed were being visualized in her mind. She dreamed about Curtis being there, spending the day with her at the beach; hugging, holding hands & smooching with her. She just couldn't get Curtis off of her mind.
