Years ago, I've heard of them being described as:
-stuck up
-snobby
-bougie (I didn't hear about bougie & uppity until recently.)
-uppity
-douchebag
-asshole
-arrogant
-conceited
-know-it-all
-think they're all that
-think they're too much
-think they're better
-think their shit doesn't stink
-self-righteous
I never heard of the character of a "narcissist" until somewhere in 2016, maybe sometime before. Probably in 2012. I probably heard of it when reading some articles on the http://whale.to website.
http://www.whale.to/c/narcissism.html
http://www.whale.to/b/psychopaths_h.html
It must've been in 2012 or 2013, maybe. & it went over my head.
Back in the 90's, I used to always mainly hear about all those light-skinned pretty Creoles(men & women in New Orleans) or Hispanics being described as "stuck up, snobby & think they're too much".
I heard of the narcissistic guys (any color or race), being called conceited, arrogant, asshole & douchebag. Females being called, "uppity, snobby & think they're too much".
Another thing about narcissism & narcissistic abuse is that years ago, I never knew that domestic violence IS narcissistic abuse! Whenever you hear about a man who beats on women, treats her like a child, controls her, tells her who she can communicate with, dictates what she should wear,, etc. That's a narcissistic abuser. & it's more than dating or marriage. Relationships, like mother/daughter, father/son, friends, coworkers, classmates, church members & pastors, etc. Narcissism is mainly about control over others. I don't know why people make it like as if narcissism is only about selfishness.
Whenever you hear about a bitter, grumpy old hag/witch? You're dealing with a narcissistic abuser.
Whenever you hear about that nagging wife, you're hearing about a narcissistic abuser.
