Plant A Seed For Me

Y'all, I'm sleep deprived, but I tried my best with this short story. The donation button is at the top corner of your right on this blog, to help me survive & flourish with this side hustle.

Bradley & Laura have 8 children. Autumn, Winter, Verna & Summer are the girls, & Dennis, Daniel, Donald & David are the boys. The 8 children spend the weekend by their grandparents' house every weekend, holiday & summer. Bradley & Laura's parents live next door to each other. So, the children can spend time with all 4 grandparents!

Bradley's dad, Steven, sat 3-year old Verna on his lap & read some Bible scriptures about God saying to be fruitful & multiply. That was a response to Verna asking him where babies come from & why she has so many sisters & brothers. She wished she was an only child.

Steven brought all the children into the backyard. He dug 8 holes in the ground to represent each of Bradley & Laura's children. He gave them 1 cantaloupe seed each. He said, "Plant a seed for me. Each one of you. Watch it grow."

They each planted a cantaloupe seed. Many of the cantaloupe seeds grew some sweet, tasty cantaloupe. The children were astonished at their ability to grow such a delicious fruit. Grandpa Steven told the children, "Just like you appreciate the fruit that you grew, your parents appreciated procreating & raising y'all. Learn to appreciate each other. Appreciate your Heavenly Father God who created you."
