Dare To Share & Care

Gloria & her sister Elaine have an abundance of potatoes that they grew together, along with some other fruits & vegetables. But they have more potatoes than anything. So much that they don't know what to do with all of them. They also don't have any extra space to put anything.

They approached their old time friend, Diana & asked her for advice. Diana & her 3 sisters Diane, Joanne & Joanna all gave Gloria the advice to sell the surplus of produce. Gloria wanted to donate the produce to churches, food co-ops, food banks & homeless shelters, so that people can eat healthier, for free.

Joanna chimed in & said, "That's so silly & nonsensical for you to just donate something you can sell & make a bunch of money from!"

Diane said, "Especially since you're living on disability benefits & struggled to pay your water bill last month!"

Gloria felt ashamed & emotionally beat herself up, trying to figure out why her original plans were "wrong". Elaine suggested that Gloria pray to God about what's the best thing to do. They read some Bible scriptures together & had a discussion. The Holy Spirit was guiding them to do what they originally intended. So, they did JUST that! They felt prompted to freely donate their excess produce before everything went bad. Elaine told Gloria that everything isn't all about money. She even reminded Gloria about how God swooped in & miraculously made a way to make sure that Gloria's water bill was paid JUST IN TIME!

Gloria said, "You know what, Elaine? You're right. God used people to bless us; now it's our turn to bless others." So, the 2 sisters donated the food to churches, food co-ops, food banks homeless shelters, & even people in the neighborhood. They even set up a tent at the farmers market & just gave away some produce for free.

Some people took the produce & did some canning & preserving. They learned a new skill. Then, Gloria & Elaine taught free Christian-based canning, foraging & food preservation courses. Guess who showed up to "learn". Diana, Diane, Joanna & Joanne. They really humbled themselves & apologized to Gloria & Elaine. They realized that you can survive without being rich, money-hungry & stingy. The 4 sisters followed in Gloria & Elaine's footsteps to start growing their own food & being generous & giving to the less fortunate.
