Pregnant & Sick

Yatziri did the deed with her boyfriend, Flavio. He ghosted her after he found out that she was pregnant with his child. Yatziri was confused because the relationship seemed perfect. She fell into a depression. She didn't know what to do. She cried all night, every night. Couldn't sleep. She would nervously rock herself back & forth in her mother's favorite Adirondack rocking chair, just sobbing. She didn't want anyone to see her cry.

Yatziri couldn't keep any food down. It was bad enough that she was even eating the BRAT diet, & that wasn't even helpful. She was sick throughout almost her whole pregnancy, until she started drinking homemade ginger tea in her 8th month. She said to herself that it was bad enough that she wouldn't wish this on her worst enemy.

She went for a routine checkup at the clinic, & she overheard the other pregnant women gossiping about their morning sickness experiences & their no-good baby daddies not being worth all that suffering that they had to go through. On top of that, there was a rude, grumpy receptionist, who was 7 months pregnant & looked like she was ready to snap, crackle, pop. The other women thought she was having twins. The receptionist went outside to take a smoke break, & the women were shaking their heads.

She came back inside, & 1 of the women was 3 months pregnant & felt sick as a dog. The receptionist would not allow the pregnant woman to access the restroom. Then, she banned the woman from the clinic for splattering all over the floor. The other women, as well as Yatziri, became irate because they were wondering how the receptionist could lack empathy & compassion, when she's also pregnant. Yatziri saw her doctor & then jetted out of there.

Yatziri had her ginger tea, so no morning sickness that day. She saw Flavio in the parking lot, & he saw how big her belly was getting. He felt sorrowful. He proposed to her in the parking lot & asked her to marry him. He wanted to be in both her & the baby's life. He admitted that he felt threatened by a sudden life change & wasn't ready. He eventually decided to man up & own up to his responsibility as a father.

He got a new house, moved her in, & prepared for the baby's arrival. Yatziri started having complications with her labor. Unfortunately, both she & the baby died, but the baby died in her womb before she did. Flavio was mentally messed up in the head after that. He went to grief counseling. His grief counselor, Braulio, wanted him to face reality & stop being in denial.

Braulio sat Flavio down & had him watch Aaron Hall's "I Miss You" video. At least, in that video, the baby survived.

(Here's the video link. It tears me up every time I watch it.)

Flavio felt some comfort, but then he still didn't have any closure on WHY Yatziri & the baby died. He didn't realize how badly she was suffering throughout her pregnancy. He said that he wishes he could do ANYTHING to bring her & the baby back. He fell to his knees, repented of his sins & started serving the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus was the only thing that kept him held together before he would break or lose his sanity.
