Evacuating Hurricane Roslyn

This short story is dedicated to all sufferers of hurricanes. Past, present & future. My heart goes out to all those affected by Hurricane Ian & Hurricane Fiona. If you lost any family members, I offer my condolences.

Roslyn was running around the house, screaming, "Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! This is NUTS!"

Her mother, Carolyn, came into the living room, wondering what was wrong. She pointed & laughed when she heard Roslyn having a panic attack about a hurricane being named after her.

The news was telling everyone that there's a state of emergency declared in Galveston, Texas. They said that it's going to be more devastating than anything you've ever seen. The news kept using the mind control repetition, blaming everything on "climate change", when in reality, it's directed energy weapons & HAARP.

Roslyn said, "Since the hurricane is going to be named after me, I know it's going to be deadly. Come on! Let's start packing up & evacuating right now. I'm not playing around!"

Carolyn wasn't taking the hurricane seriously. She said, "When have we EVER evacuated? I'm just going to trust in God & ride this thing out. You have to have faith. You have to stop living in fear."

Roslyn responded, "Well, I feel something in my spirit that this won't end well."

Carolyn yelled at her, saying, "You gotta stop listening to the fear mongering news! That's your problem, girl!"

Roslyn didn't listen. She felt like she would rather be safe than sorry. It's a different spin with this because usually Fox News & CNN watchers usually call truthers, preppers & patriots "paranoid". Not the other way around.

Roslyn booked a hotel room in Atlanta, GA for 2 weeks. She packed up & left. She got in her 1991 Mercury Sable beater, & nothing was stopping her. Carolyn stayed in Galveston. She stocked up & prepared with food, water, extra toiletries, flashlights, batteries, tarps, etc. Fortunately, all they got was a little bit of wind in Galveston.

Hurricane Roslyn took an unexpected turn & went towards Atlanta, moving swiftly. Roslyn didn't know about the sudden change because she had no radio in her car. Her cellphone battery was dead. The morning after she got to her hotel room, she was wondering why the electricity was out. She heard howling winds. Doors slamming. She evacuated, but she wasn't prepared with anything because she thought everything was going to be normal in ATL. She had a room on the 1st floor, & her room got flooded out. It was bad. She had to get rescued. Thankfully, she made it out alive.

The Red Cross helped her get back to Galveston. Carolyn had compassion on her daughter & didn't laugh in her face, like Roslyn (her daughter) expected. Roslyn reiterated again that she was trying to be safe, rather than sorry.
