Ming Chong (full name Mingus Ang Chong) just got over a stressful period in her life. She has had enough. She was playing the radio while doing her laundry. Heather Headley's song, "Me Time" came on. Then, she started fantasizing. She reflected back on times when she went to spas & hot springs when she was living in her home country, Taiwan. So, she decided to add a little bump of fun & recreation to her peace & solitude.
She rode her pumpkin orange bike to the community center of her gated apartment complex. Yes. The complex was big enough that you'd be better off riding a bike or driving. The community center had it all. An old-fashioned internet cafe & coffee shop & a small grocery store. It also had a HUGE recreational center with a fitness center, a co-ed sauna, a piping hot, bubbly jacuzzi AND steam room, as well as a detox salt room. It had a 17-foot deep pool with 3 different heights of diving boards, + also 3 different colors & sizes of water slides. It also had a lazy river. You had to pay an elite membership for the massage, spa & hot springs there. Unfortunately, Ming couldn't afford the elite membership; so she made do, with what she could afford, with the $10 day pass.
Ming had a blast & did EVERYTHING! Well... except for the elite membership. Hopefully one day, if she could get a good enough job, she could afford the elite membership. But she was grateful for what she could do for the day. Later on, she slept well. She kept replaying her day over & over in her head, just before nodding off to sleep. & she had the BEST sleep she's had in YEARS! She hopes that she can have enough spare time to get to experience something like that again.
