A Better Race To Win

I just, at the last second, came up with the idea for this short story because I used to run track in middle school, & I would always lose EVERY race.

Wardell Timpson has always fantasized about being an Olympic runner. He decided to join Barry Soetoro High School's track team. He also joined in hopes that he would lose weight. His peers pressured him to join.

Wardell decided to change his diet ALL AROUND. He cut out all processed foods, fast foods & junk foods. He tried as best as he could to eat God-given foods from nature. He installed a water filter. He took detox baths twice a week.

After so many track practice sessions & loss of 37 pounds, Wardell had his 1st meet. He was all decked up & excited about his new uniform & cleats. He was hyped up & big headed. He thought he could run like Forrest Gump, but he couldn't. He came in last place for his 100-meter dash. He felt discouraged, had an emotional meltdown & decided to quit. He thought he did all he could. He was a perfectionist.

After the track meet, he angrily walked home with his head down, pouting. A woman, named, Caldonia, offered him a ride. He kept trying to ignore her at first. She kept asking him what's wrong & offered to help. He then accepted the ride & told her what happened. She later revealed that she went to that same high school with his mother back in the 70's.

Caldonia brought Wardell straight on home, & she left him with a KJV gospel tract about being discouraged. A light bulb went off in his head to make the decision to accept Jesus Christ into his heart, love everyone & also repent of his sins. He realized that he had a bigger, better & more important race to win. He was SO elated that he accepted Caldonia's offer. He forsook the secular, worldly track team for something even BETTER!

Wardell hunted Caldonia down & found her a week later at a local market, & she was witnessing & soul winning. He asked to join, & then he went on his own mission. He began creating his own gospel tracts. He even used the scenario of himself feeling discouraged & quitting the track team. He realizes that he can't give up or quit with the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ. He made the decision to endure until the end, so that he can be saved.

THE END
