Chasing Ducks & Squirrels

4-year old Evalee kept begging her mom, Melissa, to go to the park.

"Mommy! Mommy! Can we play with the ducks?", she asked.

Melissa told her, "After all of your hamburger is gone."

Evalee started to whine. She reminded her mom that she doesn't like bread. Evalee's grandma, also named Evalee, thought it was strange that she hates bread.

Grandma Evalee said, "That's funny. Because children always love bread!"

The little girl started to cry for more pickle slices & tomatoes. She loves them. She kept crying, whining & protesting to go to the park until she got her way.

It was Grandma's idea to go walk on the trail & feed the ducks stale, old bread. Little Evalee took the initiative to climb into her yellow wagon & demanded for Granny to push her. They walked to the park, & they also walked laps for exercise. Granny pulled Little Evalee around during the walk.

People brought their dogs. Many mallard ducks & a couple of swans were swimming around. Little Evalee kept trying to chase after the ducks to give them the bread. They kept running away. They waited until she walked away, to pick up the bread & eat it. The squirrels helped themselves to some of the bread, too. She was getting frustrated because the ducks & squirrels keep avoiding her. At one point, there was a squirrel fighting with 1 of the ducks over the bread, & then a seagull infiltrated the fight & hijacked the whole pile of bread. That ended the fight, as the duck & the squirrel both looked dumbfounded. Some of the dogs enjoyed the bread, too. There was a cute little Maltese that kept grabbing bread to chew, & then spitting it out, & then letting the ducks have it.

It was time to go back home because it was getting dark. Little Evalee had a meltdown. She felt very sad. She cried & talked about all the animals all the way home. The next day, she drew a picture of dogs feeding ducks, & squirrels feeding seagulls. Her drawing found itself in the newspaper. She won an award for such phenomenal artwork.
