Kenneth Tucker aspired to be something that NOBODY would have dreamed of. You see? Most children (& even adults) want to do the BIG stuff, like doctors, teachers, police officers, lawyers, etc. when they grow up. Tell me why this boy wanted to live up to his name. When he was a child, he said that when he grew up, he wanted to make a career of working at KFC, in the state of Kentucky. He was DEAD serious! Many children change their minds about what they want their careers to be, as the grow older & have more life experiences.
Kenneth was born & raised in Boise, Idaho. His parents owned a potato farm. His dad had a business, selling potatoes at the farmers market. It was called, "Spud Tuckers". Sort of like trying to rhyme with "Fud Ruckers". His dad frequently donated surplus potatoes to "Food Not Bombs", for the homeless. & he also would be a contestant in potato cook-off contests, which he almost always won.
As soon as Kenneth became the legal age to be employed, he was hired on the spot, to work for KFC. Just like how he wanted. He was a determined, dedicated, hard worker. His job was to batter the chicken. He occasionally prepared the side items & washed the dishes. He loved it. He didn't want the offered position as the manager, because he just wanted to live up to his name & be out of the ordinary.
Oh his 21st birthday, he had a change of heart & accepted a management position in Lexington, Kentucky. He did that for a bit, which led to him owning his own franchise. All his life, KFC was where he worked, & where he wanted to work. He legally changed his name to, "Ken Tucky". No more Kenneth Tucker.
There was a documentary, based on Ken Tucky's life. It was pretty interesting, to say the least.
