Hello, everyone. Do y'all know about the trend, "We listen, & we don't judge."? How people say that they listen & don't judge. Yet, they STILL end up being judgemental about someone? Well, that's the inspiration for this title & short story.
I came up with this idea on 11/15/2025
I started on 11/24/2025

Carrie Butler is part of a community street ministry, where people walk around public areas, asking to pray for people. & some people have some wild, outlandish stories. It's easier to judge other people's backgrounds & situations, when you're not reflecting on your own. & you probably have done WAAAAAY worse!
Each week, there would be a different prayer plan, or a different prayer topic. Last week's prayer topic was, "How can I sin less often?" The topic the week before that was, "The soul winning challenge". This week's topic is, "We pray, & we don't judge."
There was this 1 man, named Lenny. He has a sister, named Jennifer, but people would call her Jenny the Penny because there were false rumors about her being sexually immoral. All because of a one-time situation that happened when she was in her late teens. She was young, & she trusted her long-time boyfriend to borrow her credit card, so that he could buy himself a Nintendo Wii game. He made false promises to pay her back, & he never did. That caused them to break up.
Jennifer & a few of her family members were sitting in the van in the church parking lot after service a few days after the incident. & some church members were being busybodies & meddling, being nosey. 1 of them overheard Jennifer's mom yelling at her, saying, "WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO LEARN, LITTLE GIRL!? STOP LETTING THESE NO-GOOD MEN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!"
The following day, Jennifer started hearing all kinds of false rumors about her being a promiscuous, easy prostitute. This ruined her reputation & livelihood. So, a few years later, Jennifer was having flashbacks that bothered her all day. Carrie approached Penny & asked her, "Can I pray for you? What do you need prayer for?"
Carrie listened to Jennifer & looked at her like she was crazy. She thought that Jennifer's story didn't add up, & that there were many holes in her story. She thought Jennifer had something to hide. To add to that, Carrie also thought Jennifer was on drugs. She called Jennifer a lying demon & also said, "I rebuke you Satan!" & she walked off.
After that incident, many people from the group kept walking up to Jennifer, offering prayer. Jennifer kept rejecting them because she feared that they were all the same way as Carrie.
Carrie could've won Jennifer's soul to Jesus Christ that day, but she didn't. So, Lenny was very upset about what had transpired. He picked up a gospel tract from the men's restroom that was dated 2 months ago, & he read it & gave it to Jennifer. It helped both of them find some closure about the Bible saying to judge with righteous judgement & not appearance.
Both of them found out that they should believe ON Jesus Christ to be saved, & not to trust in man or even themselves.
