Why My Nickname Is "The Railer"

A young 27-year old woman, named Jaslyn Ramirez, recently completed medical school. However, that's not the career she was happy with. Her parents & grandparents glorified her as "so smart" ever since she was little. They pushed her into all of these extracurricular activities & honors programs. They were always putting too much pressure on her to be successful. & she used to always be a people-pleaser.

She got to a certain point in her life & felt like, "How can I live my life to please so many people, when they're not even returning the favor? & why don't I really ever have the opportunity to please myself? It's time for me to start living for ME! I'm about to take an early retirement & just start living LIFE!"

& that's what she did. She decided to not go further in her career as an anesthesiologist, & she just started traveling & living for herself. She didn't even want a husband or children. Her REAL dream in life was to be a solo traveler. She hates driving because of so many panic attacks & fear of getting pulled over by police in a traffic stop, & she also feels terrified of car crashes. She hates taking the Greyhound bus because of not enough leg room. & she hates flying because of the hassle of TSA, & she doesn't trust Real ID. She hates cruises because of becoming seasick. So her only option is trains.

When Jaslyn began her journey, she took a 1-way trip from her hometown, Little Rock, Arkansas to Memphis, Tennessee. She took the Texas Eagle. She enjoyed her 1st trip & wanted to make it a lifestyle. She wanted to see a good friend & former college dorm roommate of hers, named Daychelle (Pronounced like day-SHELL). She surprised Daychelle, & Daychelle was excited to see her.

Daychelle screamed in shock & disbelief. "Ah! Ahhhhh! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Girlie! It's been so many years! It's so refreshing to see you. How did you get here?"

Jaslyn told her, "By Amtrak. This will be my new go-to for transportation, from now on."

Daychelle said, "For real?"

Jaslyn responded, "Yeah. This will be my new lifestyle, from now on. I'm going to buy the $499 USA rail pass every month & blog about my trips. My goal is to keep doing this every month until I've reached all of the 500 destinations. & I want to write about my adventures encyclopedia style."

Daychelle covered her mouth, laughing. & she said, "I understand people be sick of life life'ing, but whoa! Since this is how you wanna continue your life, let's just call you, 'The Railer'! Not the kind of railer described in the Bible, but railer because you like the trains so much. I mean, how can you live like that, taking coach? Aren't you gonna wanna upgrade to business class 1 day? Or get the (What do you call that? A sleeper or a roomette?) Will you ever take Acela or travel to Canada? Will you travel to Europe & try their trains?

Jaslyn sarcastically responded back, "Yeah, hee hee hee haw haw! I'll think about all that. I'll just see where I'll go, for now."

Daychelle showed Jaslyn around town & pointed out the best Memphis BBQ spots. She even showed her a few scenic areas. They both experienced free things to do in the city. They had a marvelous time, hanging out.

It was time for Jaslyn to embark on her 1st 30-day journey from Memphis, TN to Chicago IL. When Daychelle dropped Jaslyn off, she screamed, "Bye! Don't forget why I call you 'The Railer'!"

The people around laughed. Inquiring minds wanted to know why Daychelle started calling Jaslyn, "The Railer". Jaslyn explained that it's because she wants to ride trains for the rest of her life & blog about her adventures.

Jaslyn went on her multiple train excursions, & she was famously known as "The Railer" everywhere she went. She took Daychelle's advice to take the Acela trains, travel to Canada & also travel to Europe, with the Eurail pass. She ended up taking trains all across the globe.
